  I honestly cannot wait to go here again. Beautiful location and excellent food! A little posh which makes it a lovely treat! Not too expensive if you share meals, which are relatively large.

  Absolutely disgusted at how the owner and waitress spoke to my mum when we came for a simple coffee and a little bit of relaxation at the boathouse. My mother once owned a tea house and very nicely told the owner that it was not right to tell your customers that 'they don't serve coffee or tea after 11am' "didn't you read the sign on the door it states it there" waiter also said they dont make there money in serving coffee, nice to see that it's all about the $$$.
  I am deeply disappointed that we where treated like that. I will not return nor will i recommend this place to family and friends.

  A group of 4 of us walked around the beautiful Daylesford lake and stopped by The Boathouse for coffee and potentially a snack or some lunch.
  On arrival we could see 80% of the seats available, the waiter asked if we were having lunch and we informed him we may be staying for coffee and might get some lunch after seeing the menu.
  We were told we were unable to sit for coffee and to leave. We were told to go over the road to another cafe as they were only open to customers paying for lunch.
  We were quite shocked and felt so uncomfortable standing in the doorway having not even looked at the menu. We awkwardly decided to be seated anyway, then sighted the highly expensive uninteresting menu and decided to leave.
  The 4 of us went elsewhere and enjoyed first and second rounds of delicious coffee, a wonderful lunch - with sides, and dessert! The Boathouse missed out on our business and I will not be recommending them or returning.
  I think The Boathouse needs to rethink their business strategy.

  First impressions count. This impression (see photo) tells me that the restaurant is stingy and in-personable. My customer experience supported this suspicion. That said, the food is decent and location is beautiful.
